【広渡湖秀(1737~1784)】 江戸時代中期の長崎の画家。長崎奉行所に唐絵目利兼御用絵師として仕えた。 通称を八平次。字は元厚、号は巌斐。湖秋とも称した。 画は石崎元章について学ぶ。西村八左衛門の子であったが広渡湖亭の養子となり、広渡家第6代当主となる。 宝暦12年(1762年)に唐絵目利見習となり、翌年4月27日に本役に昇進。 後興善町(長崎市興善町)にて死没。享年48。実子湖月が跡を継いだ。 A painter from Nagasaki during the mid-Edo period. He served the Nagasaki Magistrate's Office as both a connoisseur of Chinese paintings and an official court painter. Commonly known as Hachibei. His given name was Motoatsu, his pen name Ganpi. He was also known as Koshu. He studied painting under Ishizaki Motoaki. Though the son of Nishimura Hachizaemon, he became the adopted son of Hirowatari Kotei and succeeded as the sixth head of the Hirowatari family. In 1762 (Horeki 12), he became an apprentice Chinese painting connoisseur, and was promoted to the full position on April 27th of the following year. He died in Gokozen-cho (present-day Kozen-cho, Nagasaki City). He was 48 years old. His biological son, Kogetsu, succeeded him. |
