Biography 略歴	【梶野玄山（1868～1939）】 明治元年石川県松任に生まれる。 初めは金沢の飯田華亭、津田九僊、その後垣内右?に学び、のち本誓寺の住職・松本白華の勧めで京都に出て鈴木松年に師事した。 京都に住居を定め、多くの知遇を得て、次第に画名も高まっていき、鈴木派四天王のひとりに数えられるようになった。 京都の中学校で教鞭を取りながら画作を行い、孔雀の絵を得意とし皇室献上画などを揮毫した。 昭和14年没。享年72才。 He was born in Ishikawa Prefecture, in the first year of the Meiji era. He initially studied under Iida Katei and Tsuda Kyusen in Kanazawa, and later under Kakiuchi Uren. Subsequently, at the recommendation of Matsumoto Hakka, the head priest of Honsh?-ji Temple, he moved to Kyoto to study under Suzuki Sh?nen. He settled in Kyoto, where he gained many admirers and his reputation as a painter gradually grew, eventually earning him a place among the “Four Heavenly Kings” of the Suzuki school. While teaching at a junior high school in Kyoto, he continued to paint; he specialized in depictions of peacocks and created works presented to the Imperial Family. He passed away in Showa 14 at the age of 72.
