元は、幡具であったものと思われます。 It is believed to have originally been a banner. 【幡具】 仏教儀式で使われる旗状の荘厳具（しょうごんぐ）のこと。 寺院の堂内や屋外を飾るために用いられます。 *Banner: A flag-like decorative item used in Buddhist ceremonies. It is used to decorate the interior and exterior of temples. 【種子の意味(Meaning of the characters)】 (上)阿弥陀如来・・・キリーク 全ての命を限りない光で照らし、限りない命で救い続けるとされています。 【Upper】Amitabha Buddha It is said that all life is illuminated by infinite light and saved by infinite life. (中)観音菩薩・・・サ 人々の苦しみ悩む声を聞き、その求めに応じて様々な姿に変化し、ただちに大慈悲を行い救済する菩薩として、日本で一番多くの信仰を集めていると言われています。 【Middle】Kannon Bosatsu It is said that this bodhisattva, who listens to the cries of suffering and distressing voices of people, transforms into various forms in response to their requests, and immediately performs acts of great compassion and salvation, is the most widely worshipped bodhisattva in Japan. (下)勢至菩薩・・・サク 阿弥陀の脇士としてあらゆる災厄苦難を除き・将来への道が明るく開けるよう、福徳と長寿を授けるといわれています。 【Lower】Seishi Bosatsu As Amida's attendant, he is said to remove all disasters and hardships and grant good fortune and longevity so that the future will be bright. 【繍仏とは】 仏画を刺繍で表現した仏教美術の一種。 飛鳥時代から奈良時代にかけて盛んに制作され、鎌倉時代には再び流行した。 主に絹などの布地に仏像や仏教的な主題を絹糸で刺繍している。 繍仏に梵字が用いられる場合、仏や菩薩の姿の代わりに、その梵字を刺繍することがある。 【What is embroidered Buddha】 A type of Buddhist art that expresses Buddhist paintings through embroidery. It was actively produced from the Asuka period to the Nara period, and became popular again in the Kamakura period. It mainly involves embroidering Buddhist statues and Buddhist themes onto cloth such as silk using silk thread. When Sanskrit characters are used in embroidered Buddhist images, those characters may be embroidered instead of the figures of Buddhas and bodhisattvas. |
