Biography 略歴	【春木南溟(1795～1878)】 江戸時代後期から明治時代の画家。 名は秀煕、竜。字は敬一、子緝。通称は卯之助。別号に耕雲漁者。 春木南湖の子として生まれる。 父の画法を継ぎ、さらに宋・元の名蹟を臨模して画法を習得。 山水・花鳥画を得意とした。 維新後も活動を続け、明治10(1877)年第1回内国勧業博覧会に《日光霧降滝図》を出品した。 門下に田崎草雲・佐藤紫煙・洋画家の川村清雄がいる。 Painter of the late Edo and Meiji periods. His name is Shuuki, Ryu. His characters are Keiichi and Shisyu. Born as the son of Haruki Nanko. He inherited his father's painting techniques and further learned them by imitating masterpieces of the Song and Yuan dynasties. He excelled in landscape, flower-and-bird, and flower-and-bird paintings. After the Meiji Restoration, he continued his activities, exhibiting “Nikko Kirifuri-taki Falls” at the first National Industrial Exhibition in 1877. His students include Soun Tasaki, Shien Sato, and the Western-style painter Kiyoo Kawamura.
