阿吽の形をした狛犬一対。 狛犬は口が開いているほうを「阿（あ）」、閉じているほうを「吽（うん）」といい、物事の最初と最後を示しているそうです。 300年以上の時を経た今も金彩が程よく残り、時代を経たものにしか出せない空気を纏っています。 所々漆が剥がれ木地が見えている箇所や擦れが御座いますが大きな欠損は無く美しい状態を保っています。 台座にも僅かに金彩が残ります。 A pair of komainu (guardian dogs) in the shape of A-Un. The open mouth of the guardian dogs is called “A” and the closed mouth is called “Un,” indicating the beginning and the end of things. The gold color remains moderately even after more than 300 years, and the piece is clothed in an air that can only be produced by an object that has passed through the ages. The lacquer has peeled off in some places, revealing the wood, and there are some scuffs and scratches, but there are no major defects and the object remains in beautiful condition. The base also has a small amount of gilding. |
